Born in 1975 to parents steeped in the Irish music tradition, he has been immersed in a diverse range of music ever since. Clive started playing at little more that eighteen months old when his father made him his first banjo. By the age of ten Clive was performing regularly with his family band and as a soloist and at the age of twelve Clive took up the guitar. In 1998 he gained a 1st Class Honours degree in Classical Guitar & Composition from Trinity College of Music, London.

Clive has been composing music since he was very young and has written pieces for orchestra, chamber ensemble and solo pieces.

In 1999 he recorded his first solo CD which consists almost entirely of his own compositions. Sixth Sense was released by Old Bridge Music in November 1999 and has been described by John Renbourn as, ‘A milestone on the journey of the steel-string guitar’.

Earlier this year Clive was included in Total Guitar Magazine’s ‘Top 10 Acoustic Guitarists of all Time’
